Hi, my name is Ali
I live with my partner Karina in West Haven, NSW. I got involved with Rainbow on the River to try to bring the general community and the LGBTIQ+ community together with the aim of making the NSW Mid North Coast a more accepting and inclusive area. A Mardi Gras seemed like the perfect way to do it.
I am honoured to be part of an event which will encourage all to embrace diversity, remove barriers, and unite our community with harmony, acceptance and joy. Oh and I do love a parade!
I am so excited for this event to happen on the NSW Mid North Coast!! I am Ali’s partner and as part of this committee, I support an inclusive community, and I feel blessed to witness this dream come true!
Rackas Robinson is the founder of Out Loud and Proud, a not for profit group who create, promote and support LGBTIQ+ functions and events. The Amazons, an all inclusive social media group focused on education and positivity. Rackas is also responsible for the formation of the Mid North Coast Rainbow Families group, providing support and helping to break through the isolation of LGBTIQ+ parents and their children. Rackas is passionate about bringing visibility to the community, to help amplify queer voices, educate and promote acceptance within the wider community
The initial driving force for joining this committee was in support for one of my adult children. A colourful trans masc, they/them.
As a parent and ally my dream is that all children and families have a sense of community support and inclusion. Our events will provide opportunities for education as well as celebrating diversity.
I'm a mum of four who has been lucky enough to live, work and raise my children in the gorgeous Camden Haven for the last 20 years.
I am, therefore, beyond excited to be part of a community event that has the potential to be the biggest, brightest, boldest, most inclusive, diverse, awesome and outrageous event the Camden Haven has ever seen.
Rainbow on the River is for anyone and everyone.....come and join in the fun !
